The key reason is the higher frequency of repairs on higher-mileage units as a result of the widespread deferment of equipment replacement by many government fleets. Nassau County Police Department is looking for a fleet manager to direct automotive maintenance and repair activities in a large repair shop and ten satellite shops. Additional duties include budgeting, planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the activities of subordinates.
Minimum requirements include: Bachelor’s Degree; ten years of fleet maintenance experience with progressive supervisory and management responsibility; three years of managing a complex fleet maintenance operation for more than 100 vehicles and 50 employees; a New York State Driver License, CDL preferred; and proficiency in both fleet-related software and standard business software.
