Jeffery Hart Named City of Oceanside Fleet Supervisor
OCEANSIDE, CA - Jeffery Hart has been named fleet supervisor for the City of Oceanside, Calif., after an interim period. He has been with the City for 20 years and was most previously lead automotive technician. Hart started in 1991 as a mechanic for the police department. Read Full Story

Indiana Converts 227 Vehicles to Propane
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Department of Transportation and other agencies are converting at least 227 Ford vans and trucks from gasoline to also run on propane. The State has received federal funding for the conversions and for about 115 propane filling stations statewide. Read Full Story

Vehicle Repair Dispute Challenges City Immunity Law
SAN ANTONIO - A San Antonio woman whose SUV was hit by a police vehicle rushing to a call was told that that the City would not pay for damages to her vehicle. The City cited a law that gives cities immunity if one of their employees crashes into someone while responding to an emergency. Read Full Story

Uptick in Fuel-Related Problems in Diesel Trucks
The EPA mandated the use of ULSD, effective June 1, 2006. Since then, there has been an uptick in reports of fuel-related problems, such as corrosion in storage tanks and dispensing systems, onboard vehicle fuel tank corrosion, clogged filters, and seal and gasket deterioration. What has the industry scratching its "collective head" is the chronological correlation between the uptick in fuel-related problems and the introduction of ULSD.
